2. What Data We Process

NSRoute is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to our servers. All route calculations happen client-side in your browser.

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for nsroute.com.

3. Third-Party Services

NSRoute connects to external services to provide routing functionality. When you use these features, data is sent directly from your browser to these services:

We do not control how these third-party services process data. Please review their respective privacy policies.

4. International Data Transfers

When you use the optional AI voice assistant (Google Gemini) or voice dictation (Web Speech API), your data may be transferred to Google servers in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Google's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) pursuant to GDPR Art. 46.

Other external services (OpenRouteService, Nominatim) are hosted within the EU/EEA.

5. AI Transparency (EU AI Act)

NSRoute includes an optional AI assistant powered by Google Gemini. In compliance with the EU AI Act (Art. 50), we inform you that:

The chat assistant is an AI system, not a human operator
AI responses are generated suggestions and may contain inaccuracies
You can disable the AI assistant at any time by not providing a Gemini API key
Voice input is processed by Google's Web Speech API (cloud-based speech recognition)

6. Cookies

NSRoute does not use cookies. We use browser localStorage exclusively for storing your preferences. localStorage is not sent to servers with HTTP requests and cannot be read by third parties.

7. Analytics & Tracking

NSRoute does not use any analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising scripts. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Clarity, no third-party tracking of any kind.

8. Your Rights (GDPR Art. 15-22)

Since all data is stored locally in your browser and we do not collect personal data on our servers, you have full control over your data:

Right of access (Art. 15): Your data is in your browser's localStorage — you can inspect it via browser DevTools.
Right to erasure (Art. 17): Clear site data in browser settings, or use "Clear" in the app.
Right to data portability (Art. 20): Copy your route link (share feature) to export route data.
Right to object (Art. 21): You can stop using the service at any time. No data is retained.

9. Data Security

All connections use HTTPS (TLS 1.3) via Cloudflare
Security headers: HSTS, X-Frame-Options DENY, X-Content-Type-Options nosniff
No server-side data storage — no database to breach
API keys (ORS) are used for routing only, not linked to user identity

10. Children

NSRoute is a professional tool for the trucking industry. It is not intended for use by individuals under 16 years of age.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when adding new features (e.g., user accounts). Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
